Privacy Policy — SOVA GPS

This Privacy Policy explains how Cortech (“Cortech,” “We,” “Us,” “Our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the SOVA GPS mobile application (“App” or “Service”).
By using the SOVA GPS app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Full name
- Email address
- Company information (if your account is linked to a fleet/company account)
1.2 Device and Usage Information
- Device model and operating system
- App version
- Unique device identifiers
- App usage data (features used, session activity)
1.3 Location Information
- Real-time GPS location of connected devices/vehicles
- Movement and trip history
- Geofence activity (entry/exit events for defined zones)
Location data is essential to the functioning of the Service — see Section 3 for details on its use.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data to:
- Provide and maintain the App’s core functions
- Display real-time GPS tracking and trip/location history
- Trigger geofence alerts and notifications
- Send push notifications (via Firebase) related to device activity and alerts
- Improve app performance and troubleshoot issues
- Provide customer support
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
3. Location Data — Detailed Use
Since SOVA GPS is a fleet/GPS tracking application, location data is essential to the Service. Specifically:
- Real-time tracking: The current location of connected GPS devices is displayed on a map for fleet tracking purposes.
- History and analytics: Historical location data is stored to generate trip history, reports, and analytics.
- Geofence alerts: Location is compared against user-defined geofence boundaries to trigger entry/exit alerts.
- Who has access: Location data is visible to the fleet/company account to which the device is assigned, as well as to Cortech support staff when necessary to resolve support requests.
- Opting out: Since location is essential to the Service, disabling location sharing will prevent tracking, alerts, and history from functioning for that device.
Location data is processed solely for lawful purposes. Users are responsible for using GPS devices in compliance with applicable regulations, including personal data protection and privacy laws.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data, nor do we share it with third parties except when necessary for the Service to function (see Section 6 for our service providers) or when required to do so under applicable law or a government order.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (data encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential. Usernames, passwords, and other login information must not be shared with third parties.
6. Third-Party Services
SOVA GPS relies on the following third-party service providers for the Service to function:

These providers may process certain data only to the extent necessary to perform their services, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
7. Data Retention
All data described in this Policy — account data and location history — is stored and displayed in the app for 6 months.
Upon account deletion, the associated company is deactivated and devices are unlinked.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated data (via Menu → Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting our customer support)
- Restrict location tracking (note: this will limit the App’s core functionality — see Section 3)
How to exercise these rights: Send an email to [email protected] with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Communications
- Email: used for account verification, password reset, and customer support communication.
- Push notifications (Firebase): device activity, alerts, geofence events, and app updates.
- We do not send SMS messages from the SOVA GPS app.
10. Children’s Privacy
SOVA GPS is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be posted within the App and/or sent via email, along with an updated “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of those changes.
12. Final Provisions
Matters not addressed by this Privacy Policy are governed by the Law on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia and other applicable regulations of the Republic of Serbia.
